He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.

The aim of the work is to involve as many people in their local community centres as possible, and to particularly encourage and support those at risk of mental ill health to access local 'healthy' initiatives. The 'Hastings Healthy Living Network' meets every 6 weeks and brings together a range of community projects, initiatives and providers to discuss and share opportunities for joint working and partnerships around growing, healthy eating, exercise, sport and the outdoors.

Our Projects In East Sussex

Through this work, we aim to enable local people to have greater access to healthy foods and, encourage people to make healthier choices. For example, we promote the Eat out, Eat Well accreditation scheme. A social marketing campaign will be launched to support active choices.

We hope to create more opportunities for physical activity, for example by training community workers to promote physical activity interventions. We work with providers to ensure that Physical activity is more accessible in Eastbourne and Hastings.

Participants have more social interaction and better connections with activities. Key staff and/or volunteers are trained in a 5 ways to well-being approach and more people taking up physical activity to improve mental well-being. We work with providers to ensure that that a range of activities is more accessible to our participants.
